Hi,

Why can't I see the Oracle background processes(smon, pmon etc.) on SuSe 5.3 Linux in the same way I can in Unix? The "ps" command seems to bring back none of these processes regardless of login. If these processes can't be seen, how then can I write shell-scripts around them? Thanks in advance for any clues.
