Oracle has a white paper on Oracle and RAID somewhere. They agree with you, I think. They advise not to put log files on RAID drives. Log files are written to very extensively, and the RAID parity computations and checks (assuming RAID 5) might slow things down.

I'd move the redo logs off the RAID disks.
