I know I can get all the transactions immediately if the propagation mode is 'Async'. But our requirement is to use the 'Sync' mode. Therefore, the concept of scheduled links will not be applied in this case since there will be no deferred transaction. All transactions will either be commited or rollback at all sites within the same transaction in my case.

As a result, if the master definition site failed, we will choose another master site to serve as the primary site. But what if the original master definition is up and recovered, we need to syncronize the data in this site. Since the propagation mode is syncronous, there will be no defered transactions buffered at the backup site and will not push all the changes during the downtime to the primary definition site. So one of the alternative is to re-create the master definition site by export/import but this is not possible for us to shutdown the machines for such a long time.

That's the scenario. Do you have any suggestion?
