Hello,
i have some trouble with the sort function of oracle.
If i use ALTER SESSION SET NLS_SORT = GERMAN (or XGERMAN) the german
characters work fine but the numeric characters come after the alpha
characters.
Example:
SELECT * FROM TBL_TEST ORDER BY TXT_TEST
TXT_TEST TXT_VALUE
AA 1 AB 2 A1 3 BA 1 B2 10
but i need:
TXT_TEST TXT_VALUE
A1 3 AA 1 AB 2 B2 10 BA 1
when i use ALTER SESSION SET NLS_SORT = BINARY i will get what i want but the german letters ä,ö,ü and ß are not sorted the right way.
If anyone knows how to sort numeric-chars before alpha-chars it would be nice to send an e-mail to
jtr_at_sbk-ks.de
Thanks in advance,
