I have also used Platinum's fast unload along with their TSreorg. With TSreorg I was able to unload a 1 GB table, drop it and reload it in 14 minutes compared to 75 minutes using Oracle's direct export and conventional import. This was on a SUN E5000 with 6 336MHz cpus and 4 GB ram (disks were EMC running Veritas quick i/o file systems).
