I am working on a project with 2 database instances (7.2.3) on 2 different
CPU's. The systems are on the same local network. For the most part, the 2
databases will work independently of each other, but there are certain
functions that need access to both databases. What I'm planning to do is to
just use database links and synonyms to access the remote tables. Does this
make sense, or do you think I need something like Replication server? Any
comments would be greatly appreciated.
