I am assuming that you mean with the Enterprise manager? If so then yes. In version 1.5 and later of OEM the console has to be up for the email to get sent. Also you need to grant certain obscure rights on the server for alerts to work in general. In version 2 of OEM I have heard that you do not need the console application up for the email to be sent. In either case you should not need to buy the Interoffice product. Jim
