I ran into this on a Windows 95 workstation with Winsock 2 installed. I managed to duplicate it on my Windows NT Workstation by installing Winsock 2. You need the client patch 8.0.4.0.4 or later to fix this problem. Actually, I think it's 8.0.4.0.3 that actually fixes it, but 4 was out when I discovered this. It is listed as a fix for Windows 98 which installs Winsock 2 by default.
