exp : compacting tablespaces

Hello,

We archived some data and after deleting the rows, we wanted to compress the tablespace.

I exported the data (after dropping all indexes), dropped and recreated the tablespace and imported the data again.

I didn't see any gain of space.

The version of the exp utility is Release 7.2.3.0.0. I pressed return when exp asked the question 'compress extents' because 'yes' was shown as the default answer.

Could it be possible that this is wrong and that I had to explicitly type 'yes' ?
