New Sun 450 Enterprise

We are getting ready to configure a new Sun 450 Enterprise computer. Can anyone tell me the best configuration for the 450 for Oracle 8.*.

Mirroring, has anyone had any problem with mirroring.
Striping, I have heard that Oracle 8.* run slower when you use striping. has anyone had a problem with striping.
Any and all comments would be appreciated.
