You shouldn't just look into backup strategies alone, because you most of
the
system down time will be spend on recovery. For starting run will Archivelog
and on-line backup. later when resources permit create a standby database
which is the ultimate goal of a 24x7x365 environment, to achieve 99.99%
uptime.
