What to do if Database links don't work

Hi,

I'm runnnig ORACLE 7.3.2.2.0 on OS2/WARP4.

When I try a SELECT statement over a database link, I get the following server message:

        ORA-03112 end-of-file on communications channel

ORACLE's documentation comments this error message by stating that there's probably a physical failure of the network or server, which does not help me, since the above mentioned database link only connects to another user on the *local* machine.

Hence, I guess it must be a problem concerning inter-process-communication
via local message queues or something ...

Any ideas what to do ?

Regards
