I assume that you are talking about SGA size rather than HP system buffer
cache (2Gb would have the potential to be v.bad). If it is the former,
then I think you are OK just doing it. I may be wrong though, and if so
I'll find out the hard way soon enough, as we're going to undertake this
exercise here pretty soon.
I'd therfore be rather interested to hear how it goes.
