Hello,

We are running Oracle7 server V7334 on a vms platform (alpha). Very Occasionally the bequeath Lisener dies. No error message or trace file etc. The listener can't be restarted because the logical for the mailbox i.e. ORA_BEQ_READ_MBX can't be deleted because it's one of those terminal logicals. The only way to resolve the problen is to reboot the system. Has anyone out there experienced the same problem. If so is there a fix or a work around to get the listener going again without a reboot. We logged a call with Oracle but because there was nothing to go on they couldn't help us !!!
