New Release Enhances Programmer Productivity
Delivers New functionality and Debuts
PL/SQL Reformatter and PL/SQL Code Analyzer
Sylvain Faust International (SFI) today announced the immediate availability of SQL-Programmer(R) 2.VIII, a major update to its award-winning client/server programming tool that provides streamlined database management and comprehensive server-side code develop- ment for Oracle, Microsoft, and Sybase servers. The new release adds Oracle 8 object support, key improvements to the PL/SQL Debugger, a new PL/SQL code Reformatter, plus a new PL/SQL Code Analyzer. The result is the most robust application development tool set available. SQL-Programmer 2.VIII delivers the features required to increase productivity and better manage SQL business systems.

HIGHLIGHTS OF SQL-PROGRAMMER 2.VIII
SQL-Programmer's SQL-Explorer and Access Manager have been updated to support Oracle 8 types (objects). The PL/SQL Debugger is object aware as well.
The PL/SQL Debugger has been improved. It now supports execution of Dynamic SQL. Plus it permits drag-and-drop of %ROWTYPE variables into the Debugger's variable watch window, with automatic expansion of the record's elements.
The new PL/SQL Code Analyzer employs 50 coding metrics to measure and report on the various complexity aspects of the database code. This permits PL/SQL development teams to better and more quickly identify programming trouble spots.
The new PL/SQL Code Reformatter formats code to a common standard, with optional coding recommendations and PL/SQL level dependency checks. This permits PL/SQL development teams to enhance communication and improve maintainability by using an automatic common coding standard.
