1 The listener was not restarted after the db. Stop and restart the listener. (Was an ocassional problem in 7.1 and 7.2). Variant, the listener lost contact with the db.

2 Platform issue-Memory on the server has become fragmented. EIther reboot the server or wait for it's memory manager to notice what's gone and coalesce freespace to an appropriate size. (Sometimes on Unix systems)
