ORA--00600 [15592}

Hello:

Has anyone experiencd this error?

A developer was running a fully-tested query in production(it also ran successfully in a test instance but less data than production) and the ORA--00600 error occurred. Oracle Tech support suggests turning off hash_join_enabled. But the application is slow as is(purchased from a vendor) and I don't want to risk degradation further.

On the same day(last Friday), the systest instance coincidentally was updated with production data and the configuration(shared pool size etc) is the same as production. The same query ran and there was no ORA00600 generated. Oracle Tech support has no insight as to why this should occur.

THe query involves a join between a base table and a nested view.

Does any one have any ideas?
