We have used Oracle 8.0.4 on Solaris 2.6 for about three months. 30 developers doing some reasonably unusual stuff. Its rock solid and has never gone down on us - Solaris or Oracle (except a weird date problem with Solaris that occured once). Can't speak to partitions since we don't use them.
