I'm a bit of a newbie here but I have a question I need answered.

On and AIX 4.1.2 box I have a 7.3 Oracle server running. If I move the system clock forward
to beyond the year 2000, and perform tests on my DB app, then roll my system clock back
to the present what ramifications does this hold on the DB?

I've been told that I might have to reinstall everything on the box. Anyone with an opinion on this?

Also, on a duplicate production box If I change the resolve.conf to point to a different DNS server
just before the current DNS servers go offline permanently will I after to reboot/restart my
Oracle server?

Thanks for any and all help.

In Africa some of the native tribes have a custom of beating the ground with clubs and uttering spine chilling cries. Anthropologists call this a form of primitive self-expression. In America we call it golf. Received on Fri Oct 16 1998 - 15:28:06 CDT
