2.0.35. I even compiled a custom version to meet the kernel parameters requirements in the docs (SHMMAX and all that).

Yes, have that. Came with Debian 2.0.
The only really weird thing about this system (other than it running Debian and not Red Hat) is that it's a Nexgen Nx586 Pf110, not a Pentium (the Nx586 is only i386 compatible).
