Re: Oracle database on a nfs server

A few years back, I ran an Oracle database where the data files were NFS mounted from a remote fileserver. It ran fine for months. Then one day it corrupted a file. When I contacted Oracle support, I got a lot of sympathy -- they said NFS was a no-no for data files. NFS IS ok for the software.

Some people have said that today's NFS is better. Probably so. But I would ask Oracle support.
