Unless I'm mistaken does not the ODBC connection use SQL*Net? If there is a version of SQL*Net for Oracle on Linux then your particular client OS (Win95, NT etc...) then you should only have to configure the ODBC driver to identify the SQL*Net alias to which the connection is required.
