Ram,

I am not sure I understand the dilema. Both PL/SQL and dynamic SQL are going to place a load on the HP server. So the PC's are really inconsequential (assuming they are sufficient to handle the VC++ application). Either way, the HP server is going to be the bottleneck -- so soup it up and use whichever solution you feel more comfortable with.
