Hi everyone, I am new to Oracle and also new to Oracle for NT. We have a ongoing project that requires us to install Oracle on NT. We have completed that task but have some questions about the Enterprise Manager. We are running NT 4.0 with service pack 3 and Oracle for NT 7.3.4.1.1. We have the following questions and all help will be greatly appreciated.

  1. Where do we place the repository? I read somewhere that you should not install the repository on the same server that your database lives on.
  2. Should we use the enterprise manager to do most of the DBA tasks?
  3. What backup software should we use? We currently use Seagate to backup our NT servers and they make a Oracle agent to handle Oracle.

We also run Oracle on NCR Unix. Could we use the enterprise manager to do DBA work on that platform as well?

Thanks
