__start symbols in OCI AIX link

I have Oracle 8.03 installed on an AIX 4.1.5.

When I try to link my OCI application I get the following warnings:

ld: 0711-224 WARNING: Duplicate symbol: __start 
ld: 0711-224 WARNING: Duplicate symbol: .__start 
ld: 0711-345 Use the -bloadmap or -bnoquiet option 

to obtain more information.

I did not see this when building cdemo1 until I turned on the verbose flags for oraxlc via ORACCENV. Then I see the same messages.

Anyone know what is going on here?
