I've just installed Oracle Server V7.3.3 on SCO UNIX 5.0.4. The application on testing is running somewhat slow so I have had to do some performance tuning both on the OS and Oracle. SHMMAX is now set to 400000000 SEMMNI 40 SEMMNS 200 the Total S.G.A. is 326403976.

I think it is the app that is slow but, one of app. developers has suggested activating SCO's Post-Wait facility and setting an init parameter USE_POST_WAIT_DRIVER = TRUE.

I hadn't heard of Post-Wait before and have only been able to obtain some SCO literature on it nothing on Oracle. It sounds worth a try but has anyone had any experience of using this or heard of any related problems.

Would really appreciate some imput.
