we also use ADSM. Typically what we do when some or all of the files in a directory get trashed, is to create a new jfs large enough to hold a full restore of the screwed up fs. Then we do a full restore of that jfs from ADSM into the new jfs we created. You can then compare the directory structures and manually restore/copy the missing files.
