Restore of ORACLE_HOME from UNIX backup

Hi, I am using Oracle 7.3.4 on AIX 4.2, we use a piece of third party called ADSM to do backup to tape. If some of the files in $ORACLE_HOME or its sub-directory get deleted accidentally ( touch wood! ), is it ok just to restore the whole directory tree from tape ? This assume all the Oracle server softwares live in $ORACLE_HOME. I am trying to avoid having to re-install Oracle.
Thanks. Received on Wed Sep 30 1998 - 07:22:49 CDT
