you must install the oracle client software on the NT side, specifically the SQL*NET or NET8 drivers and configure them there, using parameter files that list the names/machines of each of your databases. We have this configuration at work, several oracle 8 databases on sun solaris boxes with NT client machines accessing them. Fairly straightforward, the trick is getting the tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora files right (either read the manual on these files or use the sql*net easy configuration tool to create them for you.)
