Off-site Hot Syncronization

I would like to get some input on off-site syncronization.

We have two identical servers. One will be at a remote disaster recovery center. Both will have the same application software and database configuration.

The issues are:

  1. efficient syncronization of the backup server's Oracle databases
  2. efficient and quick failover of clients (Forms-type application)

Any experiences, hints, ideas would be appreciated.
