Your help will be a little step for you but a great step for us, because we want to install oracle 7.3.4 on a sun using solaris 2.6.

We are able to install the applications without creating the default data-base.
And then we are able to call the server via svrmgrm but oracle ist still dead
(because there doesn't exist any data-base?). And we can't do anything
expect looking at the fine server-windows.

But we are not able to install the set using the option: 'creating default-database
(WG73) during the install process'. The procedure terminates with the
message,
that the creation of the data-base hasn't been possible.

Asking the install.log-file we found the error message that inside of the
dbs-directory as daughter of the ORACLE_HOME-directory the sgadef-files couldn't be found. Comparing our environment with the parent-environment

of another sun (which we have to double) we found that the directory 'sgadef'
which should contain the sgadef-files of the bases HAS NOT BEEN CREATED DURING THE INSTALL-PROCESS. And now we need the help which will be a great step fo use...
