How to connect to Oracle8

Hi there, 



I just got Oracle8 installed on my PC. However I can't connect to it. My
OS is WinNT4.0. I assumed I can connect to local DB (Oracle8) by just
leaving connecting host string blank. But it doesn't work. Can anyone
out there give me some suggestion? Thank you in advance!
