Web Server 3.0: problems changing system name

Hi.

We have Oracle 7.3.3, web server 3.0 and forms 1.6.1 running on a SGI Octane w/ IRIX 6.4. Has anyone experienced major problems with the web server when changing the name of the system? Nothing with the SGI itself is directly tied to the name of the machine. Our DBA claims the web server won't reinstall or startup even just because we changed the machines name. ANybody have any expertise in this area?
