It's nice to be able to help you for a change, after you helped me so nicely with Informix :-)

In Oracle you have one instance containing one database (not like in informix many). The information about the database is in the controlfiles. The information about the controlfiles is in the init.ora (or often config.ora).
So find out where your Datafiles, your controlfiles and your redo logs are. (Cheng Jih Chen gave you a pretty good answer). Shut down the database. Remove datafiles, controlfiles, redo logs and the init<SID>.ora and config<SID>.ora. And you got rid of the database.

BTW: Don't forget to delete the line for the database in /etc/oratab.
