I recently had problems with the Oracle 7 listner control (on AIX 4.2 / RS/6000 SP2 node).

You can do a "lsnrcrtl start" and it appears to start but won't detach the listner process and the command line locks up. Killing the process takes down the listner. If you just leave it up (quick bit of nohup and shove the process into the background), it behaves fine and dandy as you can stat it, connect to and query the database and the like. Reboot didn't help either. Neither did just stopping and starting the database.

Any ideas what's happening ?
 Thanks in advance,

    Rob.
