Tip: Drop indexes and then try to use TRUNCATE to remove the table data.
Hint: I had several ORA-1578 in the last 1 1/2 years. ORACLE Support told me
that it is probably caused by the disk controller. They encoutered problems
especially with RAID-Controllers !?
Opinion: Today I think, that the problem came from migration between ORACLE
versions without importing / exporting the database !?
