VisualWorks has an add on product to connect to Oracle. VisualAge has native Oracle drivers or you can use ODBC. Unity Software Systems in Scottsdale AZ (602) 483.7075 has developed native drivers for Oracle that are supposed to be faster than IBM's.

WIth Visualworks you should look ate the data lens stuff. I preferred to use the classes and handle database access through my own methods. In VA you can either use the classes to roll your own or build a Data Access set. VA also has database parts that take care of database access.

I haven't looked at it yet, but VA 4.5 comes with a new feature called Object extender which I believe has something to do with Database access.

Hope that helps
