I'm installing Oracle from scratch on Sun0S 5.5 (Solaris 2.5).

When installer try to create the database, STARTUP NOMOUNT always fail with the same error :

ORA-07331: smsnsg: unable to allocate the variable portion of the SGA. Additional information: 4

If I try to start manually the instance under svrmgrl, the same error occurs.

I tried to modify some parameters in /etc/system, with no success.

SPARC Station, 64 Mb, Solaris 2.5, no patches. Oracle 7.3.4.

Here is my /etc/system :

set shmsys:shminfo_shmmax=2097152
set shmsys:shminfo_shmmin=1
set shmsys:shminfo_shmmni=100
set shmsys:shminfo_shmseg=20
set semsys:seminfo_semmns=200
set semsys:seminfo_semmni=70
set semsys:seminfo_semmsl=100

Any idea is welcome (by email).

Thank you in advance ! Received on Wed Sep 02 1998 - 05:52:41 CDT
