Hi,

Has anyone have experience in upgrading from NT3.51 to NT4.0 with multiple Oracle instances installed (version 7.3.2). I need some expert advice. I am running on HP Server(HP-E20)

I have a couple of Oracle instances currently running on my server(NT3.51) and I would like to upgrade this server OS to NT4.0. My question is:

  1. Will the upgrade affect any of my Oracle instances...ie: not able to start these instances after the OS upgrade?
  2. Is it true that I need to shutdown all the Oracle instances before performing the OS upgrade?
  3. Is there any thing else I need to do before the upgrade?

Although I have backup all my database instances and the worst scenario is to restore them....but I hope not to end up doing this.

Thank you in advance in anticipation for your help.
