If you need an older version for purposes of migration across platforms you can talk to the Oracle sales tech support person that backs up your salesman. If Oracle support can not help you then your hardware vendor may have a copy of the version you need if they are a reseller which most vendors seem to be.

Oracle 8 is basically 7.3 modified to handle the new rowid format and with an optional object orientated component. Version 8 appears stable so if at all possible you should migrate to it, but we are in a situation where we are moving from 7.3 on one platform to 7.3 on another and we will go to 8 from there once we rewrite a few hundred forms 3.0 modules to 4.5. We are always behind so we request new releases as they come out so that we have them on hand for when we get around to upgrading.
