Willian,

We are also testing for exactly the same thing. According to MTS FAQ, we found a few unexpected problems:

  1. MTS will only work with Oracle 7.3.3 client to talk to Oracle 8
  2. OCI (which is used by Oracle OLE 2.2) does not work in connection pooling. Could this be the reason it is slowing you down? So we're stuck with RDO/ODBC.

The reason we turned away from ODBC to OCI was the performance. Now, looks like we may have to go back to ODBC to take advantage of connection pooling. We are planning to pilot some local MTS performance test at this stage before we try DTC.

If you don't mind we could discuss our findings on the next few days. If you've made any progress in the next few days, do you mind letting me know at Hong_Yew_at_nag.national.com.au ?

    Regards,

        Hong Yew
