Hi Ken,

There is no good reason why OI 2.0 and Oracle shouldn't run on your hardware.

Make sure that you have plenty of shared memeory and semaphores and also make sure that the ingres log file is on a disk of its own.

If you create ingres locations on the same disks as oracle's table space then you will give yourself double trouble when trying to balance i/o. My advice is to keep your databases separate. You can then tune each installation (instance) more easily. Received on Wed Aug 12 1998 - 00:00:00 CDT
