Newbie..where do my tables go??

i installed Oracle8 a week go....the docs make you go from one book to another till you come back to the first one....makes you feel dizzy.

Have lots of questions.

1. i created a new database with the database assistant and registered it using Net8 assistant. i can now login to the database through Enterprise Manager as a normal user but not as a DBA by using the default usernames and passwords. Why???
2. i login to SQL Plus using the username SYSTEM and password MANAGER..i create a table...it is created in some default database...how can i create it in the database that i created in 1.
