Help with Oracle DBA Tools - Platinum vs. Oracle Diagnostic and Tuning Packs

Our company is considering buying tools to support our DBAs. We are considering the Platinum tools and Oracle Diagnostic and Tuning Packs. I'm looking for input from people who have experience with any of these tools. We have a large Oracle database. We are looking for tools that supporter DBAs. We have other tools that we have already purchased to support our system administrators.

I would like responses to any of following questions:

What are the known strengths and shortcomings of the Oracle tools in the Tuning and Diagnostics packs?
Where the known strengths and shortcomings of the Platinum products with regard to the Oracle database?
Do you have any comments on the usefulness of these tools in your DBA environment?
Any other comments that you may have with regard to this determination would be greatly appreciated.
