PO Lite Designer not working

I cannot get the Designer that comes with POLite 3.0.6.2.4 to work. It starts, and then just dies after a few seconds. I have installed the JDK1.1.6. The classpath is set to point to the JDK and polite class files. The path is set. Does anybody have any clues?
