db_file_multiblock_read_count at 16?

I'm trying to set db_file_multiblock_read_count at something higher than 16 on both Oracle 7.3.3 and Oracle 7.3.4 servers running Solaris 2.5.1, but my change in the init.ora file doesn't seem to be taking.

I'm aware of the (db_block_buffers/4) >= db_file_multiblock_read_count constraint, but db_block_buffers is set at a much higher number than 64.

Thanks for any pointers. Received on Tue Jul 21 1998 - 14:39:19 CDT
