DB Connection using "thin"

Good day,
I having a problem when I try to connect via an applet to the DB. The error is "java.sql.SQLException: No more data to read from socket". My setup is I am using a trial version of Oracle * NT version and JavaWebServer 1.1 (JavaSoft). Any help is greatly appreciated.
