It connects through multiple protocols and on NT TCP/IP may be the best choice. You need to install SQL*Net Server on the Server and also Net8 if you want to use both versions of SQL * Net on clients. After it is installed on the server, you need to modify listener.ora in the network\admin directory of Oracle Home and include all the SIDs you want to have the clients access to.

Then on the clients configure SQL*Net and/or Net 8 for the appropriate SIDs.
