It might also be worth checking if there are updates/patches for both Oracle and Solaris which allow you to use filesystems greater than 2G - there are for other UNIX platforms. Phone Oracle with the version numbers of both the OS and db you intend to use and get the latest status.

NB. Although you may be able to use datafiles larger than 2G, you might find that the Oracle tools (imp, exp, sqlloader) may still have the 2G restriction. Check the Oracle install docs and readme carefully.
