Oracle Version: 7.3.2.2.0

We have some queries that seem to have exceesive parse times:

#1

call count cpu elapsed disk query	current rows ------- ------
-------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- Parse	1
510.80	514.22	0 0 0 0 Execute 1 0.00 0.00 0 0 0 0 Fetch 1	17.98
 46.77	12833 172957 24 25 ------- ------ -------- ---------- ----------
---------- ---------- ---------- total 3 528.78 560.99 12833 172957 24  25

#2

call count cpu elapsed disk query	current rows ------- ------
-------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- Parse	1
513.16	517.19	0 0 0 0 Execute 1 0.00 0.00 0 0 0 0 Fetch 1	5.11
5.85 4252 9817 20 0 ------- ------	-------- ---------- ----------
---------- ---------- ---------- total 3 518.27 523.04 4252 9817	20 0

What solutions do I have to reduce this? Can anyone give me suggestions? I notice the CPU time is quite close to elapsed possibly indicating no i/o bottle neck. Any help would be appreciated.
